Remember the 90's feud with Monica and Brandy? Well it turns out there may not have been a real beef between the two afterall.
It all started with the song they did together, "The Boy Is Mine". I can hear the vocals and see the video in my head right now.
Monica recently sat down with Huff Post Live.
"Bran and I are totally different...the difference in us is what made the song so dynamic and believeable. Because people are still asking who was the boy and who got the boy."
Monica goes on to say, "there was no boy, it just was a song....there was no boy, its no beef".
The interviewer pointedly asked Monica if the feud was "real" and she said, "It started off as brilliant marketing and what started to happen was people started creating these skits and then our fans divided and it became this really real thing. But now with us being adults it doesn't exist."
Monica also talks about the fact that she believes Brandy makes amazing music.
So it appears to me there was a feud but it was fueled by fans and the media but not the then 16 and 17 year olds.
Monica is currently on tour and Brandy is working on a new BET sitcom, "Zoe Ever After".
